Forge Transition Changes
Moving our app to run on Atlassian Forge changes how Mosaic works. Due to platform limitations, some functionality has changed. Users may notice differences in the following areas:
Smart links
Due to Forge platform limitations, all links and embeds placed inside macros display as URLs. They do not display as smart cards or inline, even when this option is selected in the editor.
For very long links, you can use a link shortener like TinyURL. This can keep your page tidier.
Jira Legacy macro
Atlassian is deprecating the Jira Legacy macro. For this reason, it is not supported in any Forge macros. This means that any pages with a Jira Legacy macro nested inside a Tabs, Background, or Popup macro will no longer work.
Atlassian recommends using the Jira Work Items macro instead.
In April 2026, Atlassian plans to auto-convert any remaining Jira Legacy macros to Work Item macros. You may need to replace any existing Jira Legacy macros on heavily used pages.
Headings inside Tabs
Following the move to Forge, headings inside Tabs will not appear in the Table of Contents macro. For example, an H2 inside a Tab will not appear in the generated list.
We are hoping for a fix from Atlassian in the future.
Mailto: links in Buttons
Due to Forge platform limitations Buttons that contain mailto: links with multiple addresses do not work.
You can still open these link by using .
