Interpret Responses

After your form has been published and users begin submitting responses, you'll want to review and analyze the results.

After your form has been published and users begin submitting responses, you'll want to review and analyze the results. Forms for Confluence provides several ways to access and work with responses, depending on your permissions.

Who can see Responses?

The ability to view responses depends on your Confluence role.

  • All users can see a Responses Table on any page they have access to.
  • Space Admins can view responses and statistics for forms in their space.
  • Confluence Admins have full access to all responses across the site.

Choose a Method

Each results view is designed for a different scenario:

  • Use a Responses Table to share results openly on a Confluence page.
  • Open Individual Responses when you need to check the details of a single submission.
  • Switch to Statistics to visualize trends quickly in survey or poll data.
  • Choose Export when you want to analyze results outside of Confluence or share them with other teams.

View Results in a Table

The Responses Table macro displays submitted responses on a Confluence page. This can be the same page as the form or a different page dedicated to results.

  1. Insert the Responses Table macro on a page.
  2. Enter the Form ID to link the table to your form's results.
  3. Save the page to display responses in table format.

If the form has no responses you'll see a message indicating that no results were found.

View Individual Responses

Admins can drill into each individual submission for more detail.


    • Space Admins: Navigate to Space Tools → Forms for Confluence .
    • Confluence Admins: Navigate to Confluence Administration → Forms for Confluence .
  2. From the Forms for Confluence tab, find the Form ID and click the Cog icon → View Responses .
    This opens a list of submissions, where you can click into each one for details.

View Statistics

For forms with multiple-choice fields (like dropdowns, radio groups, or checkboxes), you can view responses in chart format.


    • Space Admins: Navigate to Space Tools → Forms for Confluence.
    • Confluence Admins: Navigate toConfluence Administration → Forms for Confluence.
  2. From the Forms for Confluence tab, find the Form ID and click the Cog icon → View Statistics .

    A bar chart visualization of results is shown, helping you quickly identify trends.

Note: Note some responses can't be visualized, such as text fields. If your results have no visualized responses, we recommend exporting these results.

Export Results

Responses can also be exported for analysis outside Confluence. Supported formats include CSV, JSON, and XML.

  • Space Admins: Navigate to Space Tools → Forms for Confluence .
  • Confluence Admins: Navigate to Confluence Administration → Forms for Confluence .

Exporting is useful when you need to share data with other teams, import into Business Intelligence (BI) tools, or archive responses.

From the Forms Configuration tab

  1. Find the Form ID, and click the Cog icon → Export
  2. Choose the required file type, and then click Export.

From the Responses Tab

  1. Navigate to the Forms for Confluence tab.
  2. Find the Form ID and click the Cog icon → View Responses .
  3. Click Export all.
  4. Choose the required file type, and then click Export.
