Recurring Task Notifications
You can receive notifications for your scheduled recurring tasks to stay informed and quickly address any issues that may arise.
How to activate notifications
If you installed Recurring Tasks before 22 April 2025, your monday.com account administrator must manually activate the notifications feature.
If you're an admin, you should see an authentication screen the first time you log into Recurring Tasks, prompting you to approve the new notification permissions. In some cases, this screen may appear twice.
If the authentication screen doesn't appear and notifications are still not enabled, go to Administration → Apps, look for Recurring Tasks and click the Update button to ensure you're running the latest version of the app.
How to enable notifications
To configure your notification preferences:
- Go to the Recurring Tasks view.
- Click Notifications in the top-right corner.
- Select your notification channels.
- Click the Notifications button again to close the channel selection modal.
Notification Channels
You can choose to receive notifications through the following channels:
- Notification Center: Notifications will appear in your monday.com bell icon.
- Task Updates Section: A comment will be added directly to the task's Updates section.
Best Practice Tip
We recommend enabling both options to ensure you're promptly notified and can track what happened if something doesn't go as expected.
When Are Notifications Sent?
Currently, Recurring Tasks only sends notifications when an error occurs and a task cannot be created. For example:
- The original task was deleted before the next task in the series could be generated.
- You lost permissions to access the board or task.
