Release Notes

There are two types of releases for Social Media Manager — minor and major. You don't need to do anything for minor updates, as these are served to you automatically. But when there is a major update, you need to take action to get all the new features and improvements. 

8 April 2026

Updates

• You now have more flexibility when scheduling posts. With this update, you can change the target platform of a scheduled post, making it easy to adapt your content if plans change.
• Improve accessibility for your audience with the addition of alt text for images. Add alt text when creating a post to help ensure your content is accessible to everyone.

24 March 2026

Updates

• In this release, we have made several user experience improvements:
  • You can now edit the title of documents uploaded on a LinkedIn post, allowing for clearer and more accurate content presentation.
  • The previous 10-minute minimum scheduling restriction has been removed. Posts can now be scheduled as soon as 1 minute in advance, enabling quicker publishing when needed.
  • Deletion messages have been refined to provide clearer explanations, helping you better understand the outcome of your actions.

New Feature

• We've added a calendar view to the Recent Posts screen. The calendar view shows when your posts were published, month by month.

Updates

• We've updated the Accounts screen to make it easier to view all information about your connected accounts.
• We've updated the Create Post screen to align with the new look of Social Media Manager.

Bug Fix

• We've fixed a bug where the post's character count remained at 0 regardless of the actual number of characters.

16 February 2026

New Features

• You can now post on LinkedIn from Social Media Manager! All of the functions available to your Facebook and Instagram accounts are now available to your LinkedIn account.
• Save a post as a draft so that you can return to it later.

Updates

• We've made some changes to the Instagram authentication screen.
• We've changed the onboarding experience so that new users are taken directly to connect a social media account, so they can get started creating posts straight away.
• We've updated the metrics screen to make it easier to track your social media performance.
• We've updated the headers throughout the app to align with the new look for Social Media Manager.

• We've added a Help & Support button to the top bar in the app that provides links to the documentation, our customer support portal, and an option leave a rating for the app.

• We've fixed a bug that was preventing Instagram posts with two or more images being published.

Bugs fixed

• We've fixed a bug where the progress bar was obstructed when posting a landscape video on Facebook.
• We've fixed a bug where the preview pane would appear blank for a second or so if you made a change to the message of a post that contained a media file.

New Feature

• We've added a preview pane on the Create a Post and Edit Post forms. The preview pane shows you what your post will look like when published.

• We've fixed a bug with how failed posts are handled by the Metrics page.

• We've made changes to Social Media Manager to ensure it continues to function correctly after Facebook deprecated their post_impressions metric.

13 November 2025

Update

• Due to a limitation of the Facebook API, we have had to remove the ability to update the scheduled date and time of any scheduled Facebook posts containing a video.

Bug fixed

• We fixed a bug that caused Facebook video posts to fail if the message was longer than 255 characters.

6 November 2025

New Feature

• We've added a View Post option to the ellipsis menu for each post in the Recent Posts page. This opens the post in the platform it was created for in a new tab in your browser.

Bugs fixed

• We have fixed a bug that prevented the display of all images in a post when editing it after it was created.
• We fixed a bug that prevented Instagram posts from being created correctly when they contained a large video file.

3 November 2025

New Features

• We've added scheduled posts for Instagram. You can now create a post in Social Media Manager for your Instagram account and set it to publish at a specified date and time.

Updates

• We've added a warning if you try to leave a page which contains unsaved changes.
• We've improved the navigation when you click on the "Create My First Post" pop-up that appears when you connect your first account.

Update

• When creating a new post, the scheduled time is autofilled with your current local time plus 10 minutes when you select a scheduled date. You can change this to a different time if you wish.

10 October 2025

New Feature

• We've added a pop-up that appears when you connect your first social media account. The pop-up takes you to the Create Post page, where you can start creating posts using Social Media Manager.

8 October 2025

New Features

• We've added platform logos throughout Social Media Manager so that you can easily identify which platform you are interacting with or viewing metrics for.
• The pop-up with the ghost image that appears when you open the authentication window to connect to an account now disappears automatically if you manually close the authentication window without connecting to an account.
• We've renamed the Posts Overview page as Recent Posts.

Bug Fix

• We fixed a bug that caused Facebook images to be deleted after one day if you created a Facebook post with a single image.

• We fixed a bug that caused Social Media Manager to incorrectly count the number of workspaces on which you have installed the app.
