Where to use Enhanced Search functions on Forge

You should be able to put Forge precomputations syntax anywhere into native Jira that accepts JQL.

Search using an Enhanced Search function

  1. Navigate to the Jira Search Work Items page.
  2. Select JQL.
  3. Insert your Enhanced Search Forge query into the search bar, and then press Enter.
Note: The first time an Enhanced Search Forge function is run by any user on an instance, it might take up to 25 seconds to retrieve the results. Once the results have been calculated, it will be stored in a Jira cache. Once cached, the results can be retrieved faster on subsequent searches by any user on the same instance.

You can now save your Enhanced Search Forge query as a Jira filter.

Save your Enhanced Search Forge query as a Jira filter

  1. Click Save Filter once you have run the search.
  2. Enter the following details:
    1. Filter Name
    2. Filter Description.
    3. Select permissions for Viewers and Editors.
  3. Click Save.

You have just saved your Enhanced Search Forge filter. It will be synced automatically for you when the filter results change. We attempt to sync precomputation results once every 5 minutes. However, results may take up to 10 minutes to be reflected.

Manage filters

  1. Navigate to the View All Filters page.
  2. Click the ellipses icon next to a filter to manage your Enhanced Search Forge Jira filter.
  3. Click on the filter name to view the Enhanced Search Forge Jira filter.
