Nested Jira Legacy Macros
Atlassian is deprecating the Jira Legacy macro. As part of this platform change, the Jira Legacy macro is not supported within Forge-based macros. This is a limitation of the Atlassian Forge platform and is not specific to Mosaic.
As a result, any page that contains a Jira Legacy macro nested inside a Tabs, Background, or Popup macro will no longer function as expected after moving to Forge. The content inside those macros may fail to load or display correctly.
Atlassian recommends using the Jira Work Items macro instead of the Jira Legacy macro. Where possible, we strongly encourage updating existing pages to use the Jira Work Items macro to ensure continued compatibility.
In April 2026, Atlassian plans to automatically convert any remaining Jira Legacy macros to Work Item macros. However, this automatic conversion may not preserve all configurations exactly as originally set. For heavily used or business-critical pages, we recommend proactively reviewing and replacing Jira Legacy macros ahead of this date.
Because this change is driven by Atlassian's platform roadmap, any restoration of Legacy macro support would need to be implemented by Atlassian. If this impacts your workflows, you can submit feedback or request reconsideration directly to Atlassian via their public issue tracker.
We will continue to monitor Atlassian's updates and adopt any platform changes that allow improved compatibility in the future.
