View and Edit Protected Custom Fields in a Work Item

Once you have created a protected field and added it to a scheme, authorised users can view and update the value in the related work item.

Navigate to the work item containing a protected field.
The field value will be indicated by asterisks.
If you have permission to view the field, click the Eye icon to reveal the value.
If the field is empty, the default value is None.
Edit the value if required, and click the tick to save.

If you do not have permission, the eye icon is greyed out. For more information on permissions and how to set them, see Set Permission Groups for Protected Custom Fields.
