Set Permission Groups for Protected Custom Fields

By default, all new protected fields have no groups assigned, so no users can view the field values. To allow view and edit access to a field, you must add a group to the Protected Custom Fields permissions table. 

To view and edit the permissions for all Protected Custom Fields that have been configured in your Jira, follow these steps: 

1. Navigate to the administration Cog and select Marketplace Apps.

2. Under Apps, select Protected Custom Fields Admin. 

3. To edit the permissions for a field, click the drop-down in the Permission Groups column. Select one or more groups to give permissions to.
   Users in these groups can view, edit, and delete the field's value.
