Date

The Date field provides users an option with which to choose a specific date.

A common way of using the Date option is to ask users to select their birth date.

Field types must be added using the Form Builder to function.

How to add Date to an existing form:

  1. Navigate to the page with the relevant form and enter Edit mode.

  2. Click the existing Form, then click Edit.

    The Form Builder appears.

  3. Use the Add question button to add the Date option.
    The date configuration options appear.
  4. Fill in desired configuration details.

    1. Provide a title or question.
    2. (Optional) Add a description to appear underneath the field.
    3. (Optional) Select a preferred Date format.
    4. (Optional) Select a Date validation.
    5. (Optional) Select the Make this field required checkbox.
      This will prevent users from submitting the form without adding an input to this field.
  5. Click Save in the Form builder when finished.
    This saves the inputs and returns the screen to Confluence Edit mode.
  6. Publish or Preview the page to see the final result.

Example use case:

Add the Date field option to a form to gather data for an upcoming company lunch. We'll ask users to provide a preferred future data for the event.

  1. Navigate to the page with the relevant form and enter Edit mode.

  2. Click the existing Form, then click Edit.
    The form configuration appears.

  3. Use the Add question button to add the Date option.

    The date configuration options appear.
  4. Click Add a question.
    Type: What is your preferred date for this event?
  5. Click Add a description.

    Type: We'll try to accommodate your schedule.
  6. Click the Date format dropdown option.
    Select DD/MM/yyyy.
  7. Click the Date validation dropdown option.

    Select Only Future Date.
  8. Click Save.

    The field appears as a placeholder in Confluence Edit mode.
  9. Click Publish or Preview to see the result.
