Welcome to Sync Items! Learn about our app that allows for simultaneous updates to multiple items in Miro.Sync Items is an app for MIro which allows items to be grouped and updated concurrently.

Properties like dimension, text, and color fill are available to sync based on item type. These properties populate options dynamically when you select items to be synced as a group. 

Install the app

To install Sync Items:

1. Open a Miro board.
2. Click the Tools, Media, and Integrations option from the sidebar options.
   
3. Search for Sync Items in the Marketplace tab.
4. Click to select the app and then click Allow.
   
   You're taken back to the board, and Sync Items is now available in the sidebar options.

How to use Sync Items

Create a group

Sync Items works by creating groups of items you'd like to have changes appear with simultaneously. 

To create a group:

1. Click Sync Items on the left-hand sidebar.
   
   The app opens on the left side of the screen.
   
2. Click Create New Group.
   The Create New Sync Group page opens.
3. Provide a Name for your group.
   
   1. Optional: Provide a description.
4. Use the Select tool to highlight the items you desire to include in the group.
   The Create New Sync Group page will update to reflect the number of items you've highlighted with the Select tool. Ensure this number matches the items you want to include.
5. Ensure your desired properties are selected or deselected using the checkbox options in the Properties to Sync section.
6. Click Create Group. 
   
   The Sync Items homepage opens, and a success message displays.

Edit a synced group

To make changes to a Sync Items group:

1. Click Sync Items on the left-hand sidebar.
   The app opens on the left side of the screen.
2. Click the group you wish to edit.
3. Click the Edit option.
   
   The Edit screen for your selected group opens.
4. Make your desired changes.
   1. Optional: Select the Update items with current board selection checkbox option.
      Use this option if you'd like to add or remove an item from your group and sync changes.
5. Click Save Changes.
   The Edit screen closes, and a success message is displayed.

Delete a synced group

To delete a Sync Items group:

1. Click Sync Items on the left-hand sidebar.
   The app opens on the left side of the screen.
2. Click the group you wish to delete.
3. Click Delete. 
   A confirmation dialog box appears.
4. Confirm by clicking Yes, Delete.
   
   You're returned to the homepage, and a confirmation message is displayed.
