Manage Labels

Use this script to rename, add, and remove page labels in bulk. The following tasks walk you through each action: 

Adding Labels

  1. Choose Selected Space for the Location.

    If you select a parent page, the children pages are automatically selected.


  2. Select Add Label(s)
    Fields appear asking you for new values. 
  3. Enter the Label(s) you would like to add to the selected space and pages.

    Add labels from selected spaces and their children pages does not add the labels from attachments. 

    Labels can't contain spaces or uppercase letters. If you want a label to contain more than one word, use an underscore or a hyphen, which are the only two special characters allowed. They can contain a maximum of 255 characters.

  4. Select Run.
    You can select Preview instead of Run to view changes before implementing them. 
    Once you select Run, the Results of the script appear.

Removing Labels

  1. Select the Location where you want to run the script:

    • Choose All Spaces if you want to work with all global spaces.

      By selecting All Spaces, you're including all the content in the entire space, such as attachments, blogs, etc. 


    • Choose Selected Spaces if you want to enter one specific space to work with.

      If you select a parent page, the children pages are automatically selected.

  2. Select Remove Label(s)
    Fields appear asking you for new values. 
  3. Enter the Label(s) you would like to be removed from selected or all spaces.

  4. Select Run.
    You can select Preview instead of Run to view changes before implementing them. 
    Once you select Run, the Results of the script appear.

Renaming Labels

  1. Select the Location where you want to run the script:

    • Choose All Spaces if you want to work with all global spaces.

      By selecting All Spaces, you're including all the content in the entire space, such as attachments, blogs, etc. 


    • Choose Selected Spaces if you want to enter one specific space to work with.

      If you select a parent page, the children pages are automatically selected.

  2. Select Rename Label(s)
    Fields appear asking you for new values. 
  3. Enter the Original Name of the new label and the New Name you want the label to be called.

    Labels can't contain spaces or uppercase letters. If you want a label to contain more than one word, use an underscore or a hyphen, which are the only two special characters allowed. They can contain a maximum of 255 characters.

  4. Select Run.
    You can select Preview instead of Run to view changes before implementing them. 
    Once you select Run, the Results of the script appear.
