Support for Jira 10

The release of Encryption for Jira 2.0.0 now adds support for Jira 10.

Local Filesystem Attachment Storage is supported, as in previous releases. AWS S3 Attachment Storage is currently not supported.

User Interface redesign

Encryption for Jira has been completely redesigned with a new User Interface.

This new User Interface provides a much richer User Experience and is more robust, with improved performance over the previous User Interface.

Dark Theme is supported with the new User Interface.

Issue Attachment Cloning Visibility Permission improvements

Issue Attachment Cloning Visibility Permissions have now been improved by maintaining the author of the Attachments being cloned along with an Issue. This, in turn, means that Visibility Permissions of Attachments are now maintained between the original Issue and the cloned Issue. (Jira's default behavior of having the cloning user become the author of those Attachments circumvents attachment Visibility Permissions).

Anonymous Analytics 

We have now added the ability to enable and disable Anonymous Analytics in Encryption for Jira. Enabling Anonymous Analytics lets Adaptavist gain insight into Encryption for Jira usage. 

Updates

  • General performance improvements.
  • Implemented a recovery mechanism when a process unexpectedly stops due to a system shutdown. Encryption's analysis progress is now saved if there is a Jira shutdown. Users now have the option to continue the job at reboot or do it at the next scheduled time.

Summary

Encrypted fields accessible via API and improved configuration experience

Updates

  • Encrypted fields accessible via Jira API: Until now, the only way to get your unencrypted values was through the Jira user interface. But not anymore! Now you can retrieve your data using Jira REST and Java APIs. It's the same as retrieving encrypted attachments. So, now you can copy your unencrypted data over to other fields and use it with third-party integrations, automations, or scripts.
  • Improved configuration experience: When encryption for Jira is first installed, it will no longer encrypt anything until you have completed the configuration. This means your Jira instance will continue to work as before until you are ready to start encrypting your data.
