Create a Forum Using Macros

There are two ways to create community forums in Confluence, using either the Community Forums Blueprints feature (recommended), or by manually adding the macros to a page.

In order to create a forum manually, you can add the Community Forums macro to the page where you wish to have the forum.

  1. Select Create or Edit an existing page.

  2. Click the Insert More Content icon.

  3. Click Forum to insert the Forum macro, and fill in the options you want to utilize.

You can find more information on configuring a Forum macro, on the Forum Macro page.
  4. Click Save.

  5. Inside the body space of that Forum macro, add the forum column macros you want.

  6. Save the page by clicking Publish to see the created forum.

  7. Use the + New Topic button to create topics.

Any child page of the page with the forum will automatically become a topic in the forum. If you don't want this to happen you can select Unmark as Topic in the ellipses menu of the page to remove it as a topic.
